Agulha e Memoria is a solo dance performance and series of textile gadgets created by Furtado in 2022. To access early emotions which fluctuates between curiosity and fear, she taps into topics of gender and sexuality. The work re-enacts her childhood memories, playing by the water and before sleep. The shinny patchwork piece is a playful tissue that can become a blanket, tent or costume. Sewed with upcycled fabrics it holds space for connection with water reflections and the tides of her hometown Florianopolis, which were an important frame for her early questionings on identity roles.
